Wonton Filling

Method

Wonton Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the fresh crab meat, cream cheese, chopped green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Wonton Assembly

  1. 2

    Fill the Wontons

Take one wonton wrapper and place approximately 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger. Fold the wrapper over to form a triangle, pressing out any air as you seal the edges tightly. Optionally, you can bring the two opposite corners together to form a pouch shape. Repeat this process with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Dipping Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Dipping Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and chili flakes. Stir until well combined and set aside.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C). You can test it by dropping a small piece of wonton wrapper into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.

  2. 5

    Fry the Wontons

Carefully add the filled wontons to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the wontons from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve and Enjoy

Plate the crispy crab wontons and serve them hot with the prepared dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy!
