Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Broiler
Preheat your broiler on high heat. Ensure the oven rack is positioned about 6 inches from the heat source.
- 2
Mix the Crab Cake Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Be careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
- 3
Form the Crab Cakes
Once mixed, divide the mixture into equal portions and form them into round patties, about 3 inches in diameter. You should get about 6-8 crab cakes depending on the size.
Cooking
- 4
Prepare the Baking Sheet
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
- 5
Place Crab Cakes on the Sheet
Carefully place the crab cakes on the lined baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.
- 6
Brush with Olive Oil
Drizzle the olive oil over the crab cakes, ensuring they are lightly coated. This will help them brown nicely under the broiler.
- 7
Broil the Crab Cakes
Place the baking sheet under the broiler and cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- 8
Serve
Remove the crab cakes from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the cakes.
