Offer components

Typical kids entrée options (components listed individually so they can be prepared)

Method

Offer execution

1

Verify offer eligibility: child 12 years or younger. Ensure an adult purchases one regular-menu entree and one regular-menu beverage. When these conditions are met, provide one complimentary kids meal and one juice box (limit one per qualifying adult purchase unless otherwise specified by house policy).

2

Confirm child's selection of kids entrée and any optional sides or modifications (e.g., swap fruit cup for vegetables). Note any allergies and adjust preparation accordingly.

Chicken tenders (breaded) preparation

3

Prep

Pat 3 chicken tender pieces dry with paper towel. Season lightly with 1/4 tsp salt and a pinch of black pepper.

4

Breading station

Set up three shallow bowls: one with 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, one with 1 lightly beaten egg, and one with 3/4 cup breadcrumbs mixed with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp pepper.

5

Coat

Dredge each tender in flour shaking off excess, dip in beaten egg, then press into breadcrumbs until evenly coated.

6

Cook

For frying: heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add tenders and cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). For baking: preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), place tenders on a lightly oiled baking sheet, spray tops with oil, bake 12–15 minutes turning once until golden and cooked through.

7

Finish

Drain fried tenders on paper towels for a minute. Serve hot with 2 tablespoons ketchup for dipping and optional vegetable sticks or fruit cup on the side.

Mac & Cheese side

8

Cook pasta

Bring a small pot of salted water to a boil. Add 1/2 cup elbow macaroni and cook until al dente, about 6–7 minutes. Reserve 1 tablespoon pasta water, then drain.

9

Make cheese sauce

In the same pot over low heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Stir in 1/4 cup milk and 1/2 cup shredded mild cheddar. Stir until melted and smooth. If sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a teaspoon at a time until desired creaminess is reached. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

10

Combine

Return drained macaroni to pot and stir to coat with cheese sauce. Keep warm and portion alongside the chicken tenders as the kid’s side.

Plating and service

11

Assemble the complimentary kids meal: place the hot chicken tenders on a child-friendly plate, add a portion of mac & cheese, include a small cup of vegetable sticks or fruit cup if requested, and add a packet of ketchup. Place a chilled juice box with the meal.

12

Deliver the meal to the table and confirm the adult's qualifying entree and beverage were served/ordered. Note offer redemption in the POS or server checklist per restaurant policy.

13

If the child has allergies or special requests, ensure modifications are documented and the kitchen follows allergy-safe procedures (separate pans, clean utensils, etc.).
