Method

MEXICAN FOODS

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add corn tortillas one at a time and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until they are crispy and golden brown. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  2. 2

    Heat the Beans

In a small saucepan, heat the refried beans over low heat until warmed through, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Cook the Rice

If not already cooked, prepare the rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, fluff with a fork and set aside.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Tostadas

On each crispy tortilla, spread a layer of warm refried beans, followed by a layer of cooked rice. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese.

  5. 5

    Add Toppings

Drizzle sour cream over the assembled tostadas and spoon over your choice of red or green chile sauce.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the tostadas immediately while crispy, with extra beans and rice on the side.
