Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through. Once cooked, place the bacon on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Lettuce

While the bacon is cooking, rinse the lettuce under cold water. Pat dry with a kitchen towel or paper towel. Tear the leaves into manageable pieces for the sandwich.

  3. 3

    Slice the Tomato

Using a sharp knife, slice the large tomato into even slices, about 1/4 inch thick. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

  4. 4

    Toast the Bread

Toast the slices of bread in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted bread. On two slices, layer the cooked bacon, followed by the lettuce and tomato slices. Season the tomato with additional salt and pepper if desired. Top with the remaining slices of bread, mayonnaise side down.

  6. 6

    Serve

Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally if desired, and serve immediately.
