Taco Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the steak with salt and pepper. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  2. 2

    Chop the Ingredients

While the steak is resting, chop the onion, slice the jalapeños, and chop the cilantro. Place all the chopped ingredients in separate bowls for assembly.

  3. 3

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until they are pliable. Keep them warm by covering them with a clean kitchen towel.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Tacos

Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain. Take a warm tortilla and place a few slices of steak in the center. Top with chopped onion, sliced jalapeños, and chopped cilantro. Drizzle habanero sauce and add a squeeze of lime juice. Finally, serve with a side of salsa verde.
