Method

Preparing the Fries

1

Cut and Fry the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into fries. Rinse and dry them thoroughly.

2

Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

3

Bake the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.

Cooking the Steak

4

Season the Steak

In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture over the flank steak.

5

Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

6

Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the steak against the grain.

Assembling the Nacho Fries

7

Layer the Fries

Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and layer them on a large serving platter.

8

Add Toppings

Sprinkle the sliced steak evenly over the fries, followed by Muenster cheese, pickled jalapeños, and pico de gallo.

9

Melt the Cheese

Return the loaded fries to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

10

Serve

Remove from the oven and top with sour cream and guacamole (optional). Serve immediately.
