Preparation

1

Prepare the Orange Peels

Wash the oranges thoroughly. Peel the oranges, making sure to remove the white pith as much as possible to avoid bitterness. Cut the peels into strips and set aside.

2

Combine Ingredients

In a large glass jar or bottle, combine the orange peels and neutral spirit. Seal the container tightly and let it infuse in a cool, dark place for about 2 weeks. Shake it gently every few days.

Finalizing the Liqueur

3

Strain the Mixture

After 2 weeks, strain the infused spirit through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into another clean bottle or jar. Discard the orange peels.

4

Make the Syrup

In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

5

Combine Syrup and Infused Spirit

Once the syrup has cooled, mix it with the strained orange-infused spirit. Add the vanilla bean, cinnamon stick, and cloves to the mixture.

6

Bottle and Age

Transfer the Grand Marnier into a clean bottle. Seal it tightly and allow it to age for at least 1 month for flavors to meld. For best results, age for up to 6 months.
