Classic Iced Lemon Tea
Fresh Fruit Smoothie (Mixed Berry-Banana)
Refreshing Cucumber-Mint Cooler
Hot Chocolate (Single Serving)
Method
Classic Iced Lemon Tea
- 1
- 2
Sweeten and cool
Remove tea bags, stir in 1 tablespoon granulated sugar while the tea is still warm until dissolved. Stir in 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice. Let the tea come to room temperature (about 20–30 minutes), then transfer to the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour.
- 3
Fresh Fruit Smoothie (Mixed Berry-Banana)
- 4
Add 1 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 ripe banana (peeled), 1 cup plain yogurt, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup into a blender. If using chia seeds, add 1 teaspoon now for extra texture and nutrition.
- 5
Blend on high until smooth and creamy, about 45–60 seconds. If the smoothie is too thick, add up to 2 tablespoons more milk and blend again to reach desired consistency.
- 6
Pour into a glass and serve immediately. Optionally top with a few fresh berries or a sprinkle of chia seeds.
Refreshing Cucumber-Mint Cooler
- 7
Prepare cucumber: peel half a cucumber (if skin is thick) and slice into chunks. In a shaker or blender, combine cucumber chunks and 8 fresh mint leaves. Muddle or pulse 6–8 times until cucumber is broken down and mint is fragrant.
- 8
Add 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice and 1 tablespoon simple syrup (to make simple syrup: combine equal parts water and sugar, heat until sugar dissolves, cool). Add ice to the shaker or pitcher.
- 9
Strain the cucumber-mint mixture into a glass filled with 1 cup sparkling water and 1 cup ice (or add sparkling water directly and stir gently). Garnish with a mint sprig or thin cucumber slice and serve immediately.
Hot Chocolate (Single Serving)
- 10
In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Add 2 tablespoons of the milk and whisk into a smooth paste, eliminating lumps.
- 11
Add the remaining 14 tablespoons (about 3/4 cup) milk and heat, whisking frequently, until hot but not boiling (about 3–4 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- 12
Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired. Serve hot.
