Onion Ring Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Peel the large onions and slice them into thick rings, about 1/2 inch wide. Separate the rings and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Gradually whisk in the cold beer until the batter is smooth and thick.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or a pot, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Batter the Onion Rings

Dip each onion ring into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated, and allow excess batter to drip off.

  5. 5

    Fry the Onion Rings

Carefully place the battered onion rings into the hot oil, frying them in batches. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Using a slotted spoon, remove the onion rings from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
