Garlic Butter Topping

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Then, add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Shape the Knots

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into equal pieces (about 12-16). Roll each piece into a rope and tie it into a knot. Place the knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.

  5. 5

    Bake the Knots

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the knots with the garlic butter mixture and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven and brush with any remaining garlic butter. Serve warm.
