Preparation of Ladyfingers

Brew Coffee
Brew strong coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur.

Soak Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Lay them in a single layer in a serving dish.
Mascarpone Mixture

Mix Mascarpone
In a large mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Whip Cream
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Layer Ingredients
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the soaked ladyfingers in the dish. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and then the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
