Method
Filet Mignon Preparation
- 1
Season the Steaks
Pat the filet mignon steaks dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil, salt, and black pepper evenly over both sides of the steaks.
- 2
Sauté the Steaks
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the seasoned filet mignon steaks. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.
- 3
Add Garlic
Add crushed garlic cloves to the skillet in the last minute of cooking to infuse flavor. Remove steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.
Tomato Garlic Rice Preparation
- 4
Sauté Garlic
In a medium saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 5
Cook the Rice
Add the long-grain rice to the saucepan, stirring to coat with the garlic oil. Add tomato sauce, water, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- 6
Simmer
Reduce heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
Vegetable Preparation
- 7
Slice the Vegetables
While the rice is cooking, wash and slice the cucumber and both bell peppers into thin strips.
