Preparing the Herbal Tea Base

Boil Water
In a medium-sized saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Add Ginger
Once the water is boiling, add 2 tablespoons of freshly grated ginger root to the saucepan.

Simmer
Reduce the heat to low and let the ginger steep in the boiling water for about 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, add 2 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers to the saucepan and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
Flavoring the Tea

After simmering, strain the tea mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a teapot or heatproof pitcher to remove the ginger and chamomile.

Stir in 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice into the strained tea.
