Spicy Marinara Sauce
Method
Preparing the Calamari
- 1
Clean and Cut Calamari
Ensure the calamari is cleaned and sliced into rings. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Prepare Breading Station
In a shallow bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
- 3
Coat Calamari
Dip each piece of calamari first into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
- 4
- 5
Fry Calamari
Fry the coated calamari in batches, avoiding overcrowding the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
