Method

Chips

1

Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges to form chips.

2

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

3

Fry the Chips

Working in batches, add the tortilla wedges to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

4

Season the Chips

While the chips are still hot, sprinkle them with salt to taste.

Salsa

5

Chop the Ingredients

Finely chop the tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño. Remove the seeds from the jalapeño for less heat, if desired.

6

Combine the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix the chopped tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño together.

7

Add Lime Juice and Salt

Pour the lime juice over the mixture and add salt. Stir well to combine all the flavors.

8

Let it Rest

Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes for the flavors to meld before serving.
