Prepare Filling

    Combine Ingredients

    In a medium bowl, combine the shredded pork or chicken, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the spices are evenly distributed.

Assemble Flautas

    Prepare Tortillas

    Heat the corn tortillas in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until they are warm and pliable.

    Fill Tortillas

    Place 2-3 tablespoons of the filling in the center of each tortilla. Roll them tightly and secure with a toothpick if necessary.

Fry Flautas

    Heat Oil

    In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

    Fry Flautas

    Carefully place the rolled tortillas into the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 3-4 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.

    Drain Excess Oil

    Remove the flautas from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serve
