Seasonings and Extras

Method

Preparation of Chicken Filling

  1. 1

    Cook and Shred Chicken

If not already cooked, grill or boil the chicken breasts until fully cooked. Let them cool slightly, then shred the chicken using two forks.

  2. 2

    Season the Chicken

In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with olive oil, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the chicken is evenly coated with the seasonings.

Assembling Quesadillas

  1. 3

    Layering the Quesadilla

Place one flour tortilla on a flat surface. On one half of the tortilla, layer 1/2 cup of the seasoned chicken and 1/2 cup of shredded cheese.

  2. 4

    Folding the Tortilla

Fold the tortilla over to cover the filling, creating a half-moon shape. Press down gently to secure the filling inside.

Grilling the Quesadilla

  1. 5

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with a little olive oil.

  2. 6

    Grill the Quesadilla

Place the folded quesadilla in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  3. 7

    Repeat for Remaining Quesadillas

Remove the grilled quesadilla from the skillet and let it cool slightly. Cut it into wedges. Repeat the process with the remaining tortillas, chicken, and cheese.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate and Garnish

Serve the quesadilla wedges hot, accompanied by sour cream, salsa, and a sprinkle of chopped fresh cilantro on top.
