Sauté the Shallots and Garlic
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the chopped shallots and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they become translucent. Then, add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Deglaze with White Wine
Once the mushrooms start to release their moisture (about 5 minutes), pour in the white wine. Stir to deglaze the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and the wine has mostly evaporated.

Season and Serve
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve the sautéed mushrooms hot as a side dish or over your favorite protein.
