Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Start by preparing all the ingredients. Peel and devein the royal red shrimp, and pat them dry with paper towels. Mince the garlic, finely chop the shallot, and slice the scallions. Set everything aside.

  2. 2

    Heat the Butter

In a large skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat until it starts to foam.

  3. 3

    Sauté Aromatics

Add the minced garlic and chopped shallot to the skillet. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they become fragrant and slightly translucent.

  4. 4

    Add the Shrimp

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the royal red shrimp to the skillet. Stir them gently to coat with the butter and aromatics.

  5. 5

    Season the Shrimp

Sprinkle in the red chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Continue to sauté the shrimp for 3-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until they turn pink and opaque.

  6. 6

    Finish with Lemon and Scallions

Once the shrimp are cooked, squeeze the juice of one large lemon over the top and add the sliced scallions. Stir everything together for an additional minute to combine the flavors.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove the skillet from heat. Serve the sautéed royal red shrimp warm with slices of artisan bread on the side for dipping into the buttery sauce.
