Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare Baking Dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a separate bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Gradually add the sugar and continue to beat until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Add half of the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, followed by the buttermilk, and then the remaining dry ingredients. Mix just until combined.

  6. 6

    Fold in Chocolate Chips

Gently fold in the chocolate chips into the batter until evenly distributed.

  7. 7

    Pour and Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.
