Acai-style Smoothie Base
Toppings
Optional Garnishes
Method
Acai-style Smoothie Base
- 1
Blend base
Add frozen mixed berries, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, almond milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract to a high-speed blender. Secure lid and blend on high until smooth and thick, scraping down sides as needed. Aim for a spoonable, thick consistency (add up to 2 tablespoons more almond milk only if too stiff).
- 2
Taste and adjust sweetness
Taste the base and add the optional extra maple syrup (up to 1 tablespoon) if you want it sweeter. Briefly pulse to incorporate if added.
Assembling & Toppings
- 3
Spoon base into bowl
Divide the smoothie base evenly between two serving bowls (about 1.5 cups of base per bowl). Use a spatula to get all the thick mixture out of the blender.
- 4
Arrange toppings
Top each bowl with 1/2 cup granola, 1/2 cup sliced strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries, and about 1.5 oz (approximately half of the diced pineapple portion) of pineapple. Arrange toppings in separate sections or scatter evenly for visual appeal.
- 5
Drizzle honey and maple
Drizzle 1 teaspoon of honey over each assembled bowl. If desired, add a light additional drizzle of maple syrup (about 1/2 tablespoon per bowl) for extra maple flavor.
- 6
Finish with garnishes
Sprinkle each bowl with 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds and 1/2 tablespoon toasted coconut flakes if using. Serve immediately so granola stays crunchy.
