Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Steak

Remove the tenderloin steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to ensure even cooking.

2

Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

3

Prepare Garlic and Rosemary

Peel the garlic cloves and crush them slightly with the flat side of a knife. Set aside. Rinse the rosemary sprigs and pat dry.

Cooking

4

Heat the Pan

Place a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over high heat and let it get very hot, about 5 minutes.

5

Sear the Steak

Once the pan is hot, add the steak. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms.

6

Add Garlic and Rosemary

Flip the steak over and add the crushed garlic and rosemary to the pan. Allow the steak to cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time for your preferred doneness.

7

Baste the Steak

Tilt the pan slightly and use a spoon to baste the steak with the oil and juices in the pan for added flavor.

8

Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
