Method
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set. The cookies will firm up as they cool.
Remove from oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
