Method
PIZZAS
- 1
Prepare the Dough
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using store-bought dough, allow it to come to room temperature. If making homemade dough, prepare it according to your recipe and let it rise until doubled in size.
- 2
- 3
Roast the Peppers
If using fresh peppers, roast them over an open flame or in the oven until the skins are charred. Place in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let steam for 10 minutes. Peel off the skins, remove the seeds, and slice into strips. If using jarred roasted peppers, simply drain and slice them.
- 4
Assemble the Pizza
On a floured surface, roll out your pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the caramelized onion and garlic mixture evenly over the dough. Layer the roasted pepper strips on top.
- 5
Add Cheese and Bacon
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top, followed by the shredded bacon. Finally, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the entire pizza.
- 6
Season and Bake
Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the pizza. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving hot.
