PIZZAS

Method

PIZZAS

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the pizza dough with salt, dried oregano, and dried basil. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If using store-bought dough, skip this step.

  2. 2

    Let the Dough Rise

Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

  4. 4

    Divide the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.

  5. 5

    Shape the Pizzas

On a lightly floured surface, take one ball of dough and stretch it out into a 10-12 inch circle. Make sure to create a slightly thicker edge for the crust.

  6. 6

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Spread about ½ cup of red pizza sauce evenly over the surface of the dough. Sprinkle approximately ⅔ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

  7. 7

    Prepare for Baking

Dust a pizza peel or baking sheet with cornmeal to prevent sticking. Carefully transfer the assembled pizza onto the peel or sheet.

  8. 8

    Bake the Pizza

Slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  9. 9

    Repeat for Remaining Pizzas

Repeat the shaping, topping, and baking process for the remaining portions of dough.

  10. 10

    Serve

Once all pizzas are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
