Yam Fries
Method
Yam Fries
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure even cooking for your yam fries.
- 2
Prepare the Yams
Wash the yams thoroughly under running water, then peel them using a vegetable peeler. Cut the peeled yams into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to resemble fries.
- 3
Season the Yams
In a large mixing bowl, toss the yam strips with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder until they are evenly coated.
- 4
Arrange on Baking Sheet
Spread the seasoned yam strips in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Ensure they are not overcrowded for optimal crispiness.
- 5
Bake the Fries
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the yam fries for 25-30 minutes or until they are crispy and golden brown. Turn them halfway through for even baking.
- 6
Serve
Remove the yam fries from the oven, let them cool slightly, and serve with your homemade garlic aioli.
