For Grilling

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

Clean the branzino by removing the scales and insides. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

Make three diagonal cuts on each side of the fish to allow for better marinating and cooking.

Marinating

  1. 3

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix together the extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 4

    Marinate the Fish

Rub the marinade all over the branzino, including inside the cavity and into the cuts. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

Grilling

  1. 5

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).

  2. 6

    Grill the Fish

Place the branzino on the grill. Cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  3. 7

    Add Lemon Slices

During the last few minutes of grilling, place lemon slices on the grill to caramelize and enhance the flavor.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Fish

Carefully remove the grilled branzino from the grill and place it on a serving platter.

  2. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with fresh parsley sprigs and serve with the grilled lemon slices on the side.
