Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Toast the Walnuts

In a dry skillet over medium heat, add the walnuts. Toast them for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool.

  2. 2

    Chop the Herbs

Finely chop the fresh parsley and fresh mint. You should have about 1 cup of each after chopping.

  3. 3

    Prepare Pomegranate Seeds

If using a whole pomegranate, cut it in half and gently tap the back with a wooden spoon to release the seeds. Alternatively, you can buy pre-packaged pomegranate seeds.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the toasted walnuts, chopped parsley, chopped mint, and pomegranate seeds.

  2. 5

    Add Spices

Sprinkle the sumak and isot over the mixture. Add the dried mint for an extra layer of flavor.

  3. 6

    Mix Well

Gently mix all the ingredients together until everything is well coated with the spices. Adjust seasoning to taste.
