Pastrami and Vegetables

Homemade Toast

Method

Pastrami and Vegetables Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pastrami

Slice the pastrami into thin strips, if not pre-sliced. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tomato

Wash the tomato, remove the stem, and slice it into thin rounds.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Roasted Red Peppers

If using jarred roasted red peppers, drain them and slice them into strips. If using fresh, roast them until charred, peel, and slice.

  4. 4

    Season the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the pastrami, sliced tomato, roasted red peppers, dried oregano, and ground cumin. Toss well to ensure even coating.

Homemade Toast Preparation

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 6

    Prepare the Bread

Lay the slices of bread on a baking sheet. Brush both sides with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder.

  3. 7

    Toast the Bread

Place the baking sheet in the oven and toast the bread for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Assembling the Saloniki

  1. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

Once the toast is ready, layer the seasoned pastrami and vegetable mixture evenly on top of each slice of toast.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately while the toast is hot and crispy. Enjoy your Saloniki!
