Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Vegetables
Wash the Turkish green peppers under cold running water. Remove the stems and slice them in half lengthwise, removing the seeds if you prefer less heat. Dice the tomatoes and mince the garlic cloves.
Cooking
- 2
Sauté the Peppers
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the halved green peppers and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they start to soften and blister.
- 3
Add Tomatoes and Garlic
Stir in the diced tomatoes and minced garlic into the skillet with the peppers. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the tomatoes start to break down.
- 4
Season the Mixture
Add the red wine vinegar, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes to the skillet. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Serving
- 5
Serve the Dish
Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the Pepper Tarator to a serving dish. Serve warm as a side dish or appetizer.
