Method
Preparation
Prepare the Meat
If using ground beef, cook in a skillet over medium heat until fully browned, about 8-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. For shredded chicken, boil the chicken breasts until cooked through, then shred with two forks.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Assembling the Nachos
Layer the Chips
Spread the tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet or oven-safe dish.
Add Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses generously over the tortilla chips.
Add Jalapeños and Meat
Distribute the sliced jalapeños and cooked meat (if using) evenly over the cheese-covered chips.
Baking
Bake the Nachos
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
Add Optional Toppings
Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Top with sour cream, guacamole, and chopped cilantro before serving.
