Grouper Piccata Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

Pat the grouper fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Coat the Fish

Dredge each fillet in all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess flour.

  3. 3

    Cook the Fish

In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fish from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 4

    Make the Sauce

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the capers and lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Finish the Dish

Stir in the remaining tablespoon of butter and chopped parsley. Return the grouper fillets to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the fish. Cook for another minute to heat through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Plate the grouper fillets and drizzle with the lemon-caper sauce. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
