Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into evenly sized strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potato strips in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch for crispier fries.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the soaked potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying them until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch.

  5. 5

    Drain and Season

Once fried, remove the fries with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. While still hot, season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
