Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the pork sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. This should take about 8-10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In another skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Sauté until the mushrooms are tender and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Bernese Mountain Dogs

In each hot dog bun, place a portion of the cooked sausage. Top with sautéed mushrooms and shredded Swiss cheese.

  4. 4

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled hot dogs under a broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove from the oven, drizzle with Dijon mustard, and serve hot.
