Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Chop the bacon into small pieces and dice the onion.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon pieces until crispy. Remove them from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Onion

In the same skillet with the bacon drippings, add the diced onion. Sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked bacon, sautéed onion, navy beans, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.

  5. 5

    Bake the Beans

Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly. Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes to allow the top to brown.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm.
