Method

Base

  1. 1

Chill a tall glass in the refrigerator or over ice while preparing the drink.

  2. 2

Pour 2 cups of chilled Cool Blue Gatorade into a large measuring cup or pitcher.

  3. 3

Add 1 cup of cold water to the Gatorade to slightly dilute intensity and improve refreshment for prolonged hydration.

Chill & Texture

  1. 4

Fill the chilled serving glass halfway with ice cubes.

  2. 5

Add the crushed ice on top of the cubes to create a cold, slushy texture and keep the drink colder longer.

  3. 6

Pour the Gatorade and water mixture over the ice, stirring once gently with a bar spoon to combine and cool the liquid evenly.

Brighteners & Balance

  1. 7

Add 1 teaspoon of fresh lime juice to the glass to brighten the flavor and provide a subtle acidic balance to the sweetness.

  2. 8

If desired for extra sweetness or mouthfeel, stir in 1 teaspoon of simple syrup and mix until fully incorporated. Taste and adjust: add another 1/2 teaspoon only if needed.

Garnish

  1. 9

Garnish the rim of the glass with a lime wheel or wedge. Optionally tuck a fresh mint sprig into the crushed ice for aroma.

  2. 10

Serve immediately with a straw. Encourage sipping slowly to stay hydrated; this recipe yields one large serving or two small servings.
