Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the rib eye steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling. This helps in achieving an even cook.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the rib eye steak with olive oil. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly over both sides. If using, place the fresh rosemary on top of the steak.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (around 450°F to 500°F or 232°C to 260°C) to ensure a good sear on the steak.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the rib eye steak on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it, then flip and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust time accordingly for your preferred doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
