Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Shrimp

In a mixing bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss to evenly coat the shrimp.

  2. 2

    Breading Setup

In one bowl, place the flour. In a second bowl, beat the egg. In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs. This will be your breading station.

  3. 3

    Coat the Shrimp

Dip each seasoned shrimp first into the flour, shaking off the excess, then into the beaten egg, and finally into the panko breadcrumbs. Make sure each shrimp is well-coated.

Buffalo Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

  2. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Once the butter is melted, add the hot sauce, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk together until smooth and well combined. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking the Shrimp

  1. 6

    Fry the Shrimp

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the breaded shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  2. 7

    Coat with Buffalo Sauce

While the shrimp are still hot, place them in a large bowl and pour the prepared buffalo sauce over them. Toss gently to coat the shrimp evenly in the sauce.

Serving

  1. 8

    Prepare to Serve

Arrange the fried buffalo shrimp on a serving platter. Serve with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing on the side.
