Method
Burger Preparation
- 1
Mix the Turkey Patty
In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix gently until just combined.
- 2
Shape the Patties
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form each portion into a burger patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.
- 3
- 4
Melt the Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Monterey Jack cheese on each patty, cover, and allow the cheese to melt.
Topping Assembly
- 5
- 6
Slice the Red Onion
Thinly slice the red onion and set aside.
- 7
Prepare the Roasted Red Pepper
If using whole roasted red peppers, slice them into strips.
- 8
Prepare the Tortilla Strips
If using store-bought tortilla strips, measure out half a cup. If making your own, cut corn tortillas into strips and bake or fry until crispy.
Burger Assembly
- 9
Assemble the Burger
On a burger bun, spread a layer of mashed avocado, then place the turkey patty with melted cheese on top.
- 10
Add Toppings
Layer on the sliced red onion, roasted red pepper, and crispy tortilla strips.
- 11
Drizzle with Sauces
Finish the burger by drizzling black bean sauce and avocado vinaigrette on top.
