Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
- 2
Make the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- 3
Combine Tomatoes
Add the canned tomatoes to the skillet, breaking them up with a spoon. Let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- 4
Add Basil and Seasoning
Stir in the fresh basil leaves and season with salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water gradually until desired consistency is reached.
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss well to coat. Let it cook together for another 2-3 minutes.
- 6
Serve
Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and additional basil if desired.
