Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit

Wash and peel the fruit as necessary. If using berries, simply rinse them under cold water. For larger fruits like peaches or mangoes, remove the skin and pit, and chop them into smaller pieces.

  2. 2

    Make Simple Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine the water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved. This should take about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

  3. 3

    Blend Ingredients

In a blender, combine the prepared fruit, cooled simple syrup, lemon juice, and salt. Blend until smooth and well combined. Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or acidity to your preference.

  4. 4

    Chill the Mixture

Transfer the blended fruit mixture to a bowl, cover it, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until it is very cold.

  5. 5

    Churn the Sorbet

Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically about 20-25 minutes, or until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  6. 6

    Freeze the Sorbet

Transfer the churned sorbet to an airtight container. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.

  7. 7

    Serve

Scoop the sorbet into serving bowls or cups and enjoy! Garnish with fresh fruit or mint leaves if desired.
