Cake Directions
- 1
- 2
Prepare the Pears
Peel, core, and slice the ripe pears into thin wedges. Set aside.
- 3
Make the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and yuzu juice.
- 4
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground ginger, and salt.
- 5
Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Fold in Pears
Gently fold in the sliced pears, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- 7
Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 8
Cool and Serve
Once baked, remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
