Method
Preparation
- 1
Cutting the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thick strips to make fries.
- 2
Soaking the Fries
Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- 3
Heating the Oil
In a deep fryer or a large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Frying the Potatoes
Carefully add the soaked fries to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- 5
Draining and Seasoning
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
