Brewing Process
Mashing
In a large pot, heat the water to about 70°C (158°F). Add the barley malt and corn, stirring to combine. Allow the mixture to sit for about 60 minutes to convert the starches into sugars.
Boiling
After mashing, bring the mixture to a boil. Add the hops and boil for 60 minutes. This step extracts the bitterness and aroma from the hops.
Cooling
After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches about 20°C (68°F).
Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a fermentation vessel. Add the yeast and seal it with an airlock. Allow it to ferment for about 1-2 weeks at a stable temperature.
Enjoy
Chill the bottles in the refrigerator, pour into a glass, and enjoy your homemade Coors Light!
