Method

Making the Simple Syrup

  1. 1

    Prepare Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine equal parts granulated sugar and water. Place over medium heat and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Allow it to cool, then transfer to a bottle and refrigerate for later use.

Mixing the Drink

  1. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in 2 oz of Tanqueray Gin, 1 oz of Carpano Bianco, and 1 oz of Lillet Blanc.

  2. 3

    Add Simple Syrup

Add 1/4 oz of the prepared simple syrup to the mixing glass for a touch of sweetness. Adjust to taste if desired.

  3. 4

    Stir the Mixture

Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled and diluted slightly.

  4. 5

    Strain into Glass

Strain the drink into a chilled coupe or rocks glass filled with fresh ice.

  5. 6

    Garnish

Using a vegetable peeler, create a twist of lemon peel. Express the oils over the drink by twisting it and then drop it into the glass as a garnish.
