Base Ingredients
Whipped Cream Topping
Method
Prepare Ricotta Mixture
- 1
Mix Base Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, and powdered sugar. Use a spatula to gently mix until the ingredients are well blended and smooth. Make sure not to overmix, as you want to keep the airy texture of the ricotta.
Prepare Whipped Cream
- 2
Whip the Cream
In a separate mixing bowl, pour in the heavy whipping cream. Using an electric mixer, beat on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then continue to beat until stiff peaks are achieved. Be careful not to overwhip, which can turn the cream into butter.
Assemble Lemon Ricotta
- 3
Layer the Components
Spoon the ricotta mixture into serving bowls or glasses, filling them about halfway. Top with a generous dollop of the whipped cream, and if desired, add an extra sprinkle of lemon zest for garnish.
