Preparation
- 1
Prep the Vegetables
Wash and dry the lettuce, then tear it into bite-sized pieces. Slice the tomato into thin rounds.
- 2
Prepare the Pickled Red Onions
If using store-bought pickled red onions, ensure they are drained. If making homemade, prepare them at least 1 hour before serving.
Assembly
- 3
Spread the Condiments
Slice the hoagie roll in half lengthwise. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each side of the roll, followed by 1 tablespoon of red wine vinaigrette.
- 4
Layer the Meats and Cheese
Begin layering the salami, capicola, and mortadella evenly on one side of the hoagie roll. Top with slices of provolone cheese.
- 5
Add the Vegetables
Layer the prepared lettuce, tomato slices, pepperoncini, and pickled red onions on top of the meats and cheese.
- 6
Close and Serve
Carefully place the other half of the hoagie roll on top to close the sandwich. Cut in half and serve immediately.
