Preparation

- 2
Prepare the Pickled Onions
If using store-bought pickled onions, ensure they are ready to use. If making homemade pickled onions, thinly slice a red onion and soak it in a mixture of vinegar, water, and sugar for at least 30 minutes.
- 3
Prepare the Fresh Basil
Rinse the fresh basil leaves and gently pat them dry with a paper towel. Tear larger leaves into smaller pieces for easier distribution in the hoagie.
Assembly
- 4
Assemble the Hoagie
Take the hoagie rolls and slice them open lengthwise. Start layering the ingredients by placing a bed of spinach in each hoagie roll, followed by slices of cucumber, avocado, and pickled onions. Top with fresh basil leaves.
- 5
Add the Dressing
Drizzle the green goddess dressing generously over the assembled hoagies, ensuring all ingredients are coated.
- 6
Final Touch
Close the hoagie rolls gently and press down slightly to secure the filling. Optionally, cut the hoagies in half for easier handling.
