Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 tsp of baking powder, and 1 tsp of salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream 1 cup of softened unsalted butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in 1 tsp of vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with 1 cup of milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  6. 6

    Pour into Pan

Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

Streusel Topping Preparation

  1. 7

    Mix Streusel Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 2 tsp of ground cinnamon. Mix well.

  2. 8

    Add Melted Butter

Pour in 4 tbsp of melted unsalted butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. 9

    Sprinkle Topping

Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the cake batter in the baking pan.

Baking

  1. 10

    Bake the Cake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  2. 11

    Cool and Serve

Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
